The Annex

The Annex in Toronto

The location of the Annex makes it a prime neighbourhood in downtown Toronto. The homes in the Annex include smashing red brick Victorians and Edwardians mixed in with multiplex buildings. Sibelius Park is a focal point for Annex. The neighbourhood according to the Toronto Real state Board’s map includes Yorkville to the east and Seaton Village to the west. The area starts at Bloor Street to Yonge Street up to and including Dupont Street over to Christie in the west. The best homes in this pocket are in either Yorkville pocket or the Annex section closer to Avenue Road and Bloor Street. Streets such as Lowther Avenue, Admiral Road, Elgin Avenue, Bernard Avenue, Bedford Road and Prince Arthur Avenue all have great architecture mixed with the occasional average home and various multi-dwelling buildings. Properties in this pocket are here for people with the money to afford million plus homes.

Hazelton Avenue, Cumberland Street, Yorkville Avenue, Berryman Street and Webster Avenue are all located in the heart of Yorkville. Now there are prestigious condo buildings along Davenport Road such as The Florian, The Yorkville and many others within Yorkville proper such The Hazelton, The Four Seasons and many other more modest buildings.

When searching for a home in the Annex, our suggestion is to keep an eye out for U of T properties (University of Toronto) because of the noise factor from frat houses or similar. These frat houses tend to be closer to Spadina Ave (Madison Ave, Huron St etc.)
